Adrian Jackson


Adrian received a predominantly classical musical training and over the years has become highly regarded both in the UK and abroad as a conductor and musical supervisor within the field of musical theatre.

Internationally, he has worked with many renowned orchestras including the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hallé Orchestra. He is also the Musical Director and Principal Conductor of the acclaimed City Concert Orchestra.

National concert tours have included The Musicals, The Music of the Night, Musicals and Movies, Hollywood & the Musicals and The Best of West End & Broadway. He also tours annually with his series of Proms concerts.

Adrian has extensive West End Theatre credits including, The Palace, Her Majesty’s, Apollo Victoria, the London Palladium and the Theatre Royal, and he was Musical Director of A Celebration of Musical Theatre for six years at the Palace Theatre, London. He has been guest Conductor with orchestras at the Royal Albert Hall on many occasions.

Adrian has been collaborating over many years with Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, writers of Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and Martin Guerre, and he conducted and arranged the world premiere performance of a conceptually new concert of their work with the BBC Concert Orchestra under the banner of One Day More. The concert has now been relaunched in the USA and many of Adrian’s orchestrations are currently featured in a high profile US and Canadian tour with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. He was the original conductor and supervisor of pieces from The Pirate Queen, which premiered at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, Chicago, prior to transferring to Broadway.

He is a Producer and Artistic Director in his own right and has been responsible for many high profile concerts and theatrical productions in venues throughout the UK.

On the radio, Adrian presented the popular weekly musical theatre programme Showstoppers at Saga 105.7fm, which ran for over 3 years to top ratings, and until recently, he could be heard every Friday presenting the evening show at Smooth FM.

Adrian is currently the Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Garrick Theatre, Lichfield.
